Service to people is the common element in all instructional programs. The interdisciplinary nature of the department allows students to learn from instructors with a variety of experience in working with individuals who have disabilities, their families and the institutions that serve them. Practical experience is given to students during their studies through supervised student teaching, practicum and/or clinic experiences.
Degrees Available
A Bachelors of Science (B.S.R), or a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (B.A.A.S), in rehabilitation services, offers a variety of opportunities for careers in the helping professions with program concentrations in:
1) Rehabilitation Services
2) Orientation and Mobility
3) Deaf Services
Career Paths
Employment opportunities in each of these disciplines are numerous and varied. In addition to preparing students for entry-level positions in their chosen profession, BRS program concentrations provide a sound academic background for graduate education. Career Possibilities include:
